We were just delighted that Paul Mescal was nominated for a BAFTA for his first starring role in a film.
However, we thought Colin had the BAFTA win in the bag for his incredible turn in The Banshees of Inisherin.
So imagine our shock when Austin Butler’s name was read out on Sunday night.
The American actor delighted viewers and critics alike with his performance as Elvis.
However, Colin was certainly the favourite to win on BAFTA night.
Shocked viewers took to social media to share their opinions on both Colin and Paul missing out.

Austin was humble in his speech as he said: “Man…this is amazing. I’m really trying to take everything in and be really present.”
Among a long list of thanks, he mentions director Baz Luhrmann for his vision and dedication as well as his movement coach, Polly Bennett.
He concluded his lengthy speech by thanking the Presley family: “I hope I’ve made you proud.”
