We’re always so excited to see Colin Farrell’s next projects.
He usually picks really interesting roles that are such an enjoyable watch.
And we’re sure his next film will be just as incredible as we get our first look at his upcoming flick.
He will lead the upcoming Netflix adaptation of Ballad of a Small Player.

The film is based on Lawrence Osborne’s novel of the same name.
The synopsis for the film reads: “When his past and his debts start to catch up with him, a high-stakes gambler laying low in Macau encounters a kindred spirit who might just hold the key to his salvation.”

Colin Farrell plays Lord Doyle, a gambler who has had to flee to China to get away from his past. However, it looks like his past has a way of catching up on him.
The film also stars Fala Chen, Deanie Ip, Alex Jennings and Tilda Swinton.

And it looks like they’re going for award season gold as German filmmaker Edward Berger will direct the film. The Oscar-winning director is the visionary behind the 2022 adaptation of All Quiet on the Western Front and last year’s beloved film, Conclave.
Meanwhile, it has been written for the screen by Rowan Joffe, who has previously written films like 28 Weeks Later and The American.
Ballad of a Small Player will be released in select Irish cinemas on 17th October and on Netflix 29th October
