There’s not a day that goes by where news about the upcoming Bond films doesn’t come out.
From who could play 007, to what is next for the franchise.
While playing James Bond is pretty cool, there’s just something so iconic about being a Bond villain!
And it looks like we could have an Irish villain in the upcoming flick…

Our very own Cillian Murphy is now priced up at 5/1 to take on the role of the infamous villain in the next instalment of James Bond, according to online bookmaker, Betway.
“Following on from the Oscar-winning success of Oppenheimer – along with his return as fan-favourite Tommy Shelby in the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie – Cillian Murphy is 5/1 to take on the role of the next Bond villain,” Mike Reading, spokesperson at Betway said.
And he’s not the only Irish name attached to the role.
Both Saoirse Ronan and Barry Keoghan are also in the running to join the iconic film franchise.

“Irish actor and four-time Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan also stands in the running, priced up as an outsider at 16/1. A long-time fan of the franchise, Ronan has publicly expressed her desire to take on the role, and if cast would make history as the first female lead villain in Bond’s six-decade history,” Mike said.
“It would be a bold move for the rebooted franchise, now fully under Amazon MGM’s creative management. But with a new era underway, the next James Bond chapter already promises high stakes, fresh faces, and enough tension to leave audiences licensed…to thrill.”

Barry is currently at 6/1 odds to take on the role. However, the favourite to step into the role is man of the moment Pedro Pascal.
He is currently at 4/1.
Who would you like to see in the role?
