Could we potentially see a rom-com in Cillian Murphy’s future? We think maybe.
While the Peaky Blinders actor is not famous for comedy, an interview at the BAFTAs last weekend says we might not have to wait long.
Making his professional debut in 1996 in Enda Walsh’s play Disco Pigs, Cillian Murphy has certainly come a long way.
Now nearly 30 years later Cillian has appeared in almost 43 separate films and is most iconically known for his role as Tommy Shelby in Peaky Blinders.
Taking to the red carpet of the BAFTAs, where he was nominated for leading actor.
Cillian stopped for an interview with Michelle Visage to talk about his new and upcoming film, Oppenheimer, which is set to hit cinemas later this year.
“Could there be a comedy in Cillian Murphy’s future?” Michelle asked.

Lucky for us the answer was not an immediate no, instead we hear Cillian claim: “No one sends me those scripts, I don’t get sent the romantic comedies.”
Writers, are you hearing this? Get this man a romantic comedy script pronto!
If our hearts can fall for Tommy Shelby we can only imagine how hard we might fall for Cillian in a rom-com.
