Looks like our Cillian is making a grand return to this year’s Oscars ceremony!
Yes, the Irish actor is set to pass the torch to the next Best Actor, after he won the coveted award last year for his role as Robert Oppenheimer in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer.
According to Variety, several of last year’s Oscar winners will present awards.
Along with Cillian, Emma Stone, Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Robert Downey Jr. will return to present, though it’s unclear which awards they will be handing out.

Despite, Ireland’s roaring success at the Oscars last year, this year sadly saw little to no nominations for our country.
Yes, the nation had high hopes for Kneecap to see if the three lads would be nominated for an Oscar in the Best International Film category.
But unfortunately, the rap group missed out after being longlisted last year.
Irish shorts Clodagh and Room Taken were also snubbed in the Best Live Action Short category.
However, it’s not all sad news for Ireland as Irish film production company Tailored Films is celebrating two Academy Award® nominations for the Donald Trump biopic The Apprentice in the categories of Leading Actor (Sebastian Stan) and Supporting Actor (Jeremy Strong).
The 97th Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at the Dolby® Theatre at Ovation Hollywood.
And although there’s not as much Irish representation as we would like to see at this year’s awards, we couldn’t be prouder of our little country.
Here’s to next year!
