Charlie Bird has shared his emotional request after his death.
The journalist was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease in October 2021 and since then he has been sharing updates with followers about his condition.
Earlier this year, he confirmed that his condition was “changing fast”.
“I am now using a feeding tube and will soon have to use a mobility travelator to get out and about,” he wrote.
He has now shared what he would like to happen after he passes away.
“Hi everyone, I want to make a direct appeal to everyone who supports climbwithcharlie, when I pass, please help my lovely wife Claire and Tiger to continue the work of extending the hand of friendship to people in dark places and the charities I support. I really love you all,” he wrote on social media.
His followers were quick to share their support for his wishes.

“We hear you loud and clear, Charlie. And that good work that you started will be continued in your name when you’re not here to do it yourself. You and your family remain in the thoughts and prayers of many of us. Warm wishes,” one person wrote.
“Your strength and courage is remarkable and inspirational, of course we will keep supporting Claire and Tiger and the charities close your heart. It’s a strong heart tho. Sending more strength and love xx,” a second commented.
While a third promised: “Charlie, the nation knows that this journey you are on is not one you are on alone; Claire and Tiger are travelling this very difficult path with u every step of the way. U have captured the hearts & minds of the nation, u r an inspiration – yr work will live on through Claire.”
