Love Island star Catherine Agbaje is reportedly single, as she and Elom Ahlijah-Wilson seemingly called time on their romance.
The pair hit it off during Casa Amor, but were eliminated after returning to the main villa. Since then the pair have appeared on Love Island Aftersun together, and numerous podcasts, but have kept relatively coy about their connection.
However, it appears their romance has ended, as source close to the reality stars, told The Sun: “The pair struggled to make it work in the real world and barely saw each other since the show ended.”
“They kept up a bit of a pretence, while they did the podcast circuit, but everyone knew it was over before it even really started.”
Fans had speculated their romance had run its course, after the islanders appeared on the Reality with Will Njobvu podcast.
During the episode Elom was asked: “Do you feel like right now in your life you’re genuinely looking for a relationship?”
Elom hesitated before saying: “Right now am I genuinely looking for a relationship? Do you know what it is, like -”
As host Will and Catherine began to laugh, she said: “That’s a no!”
“Currently, I want to focus on myself,” Elom explained with Catherine adding: “He’s digging himself a hole, isn’t he? He’s digging himself a hole.”
Elom continued: “Coming out of the villa, there’s obviously a lot of limelight on both of us, and we both need to focus on ourselves.”
“So, I feel like if we both focus on ourselves, in due time, if we’re still talking to each other, we’re still bonding at the same time, in due time, we’re gonna get to that stage.”
When asked a similar question, Catherine had a very different response, saying: “Yeah, obviously, I went on to Love Island because I do feel like I’m ready for a relationship. I’m ready to settle. I don’t want to build someone…”
