Carrie Crowley has been a staple of Irish telly for decades.
She jokes that she is “probably” most recognised for her time on the children’s show, The Morbegs.
“Sometimes I’m walking home and lads in their 30s will look at me before they start to sing the Morbegs [theme song],” Carrie tells VIP Magazine as she walks the IFTA Awards red carpet.
“It takes them a second to realise and then, ‘Oh yeah!’,” she laughs.

However, more recently Carrie has been showcasing her grá for the Irish language, appearing in the critically acclaimed film, An Cailín Ciúin. She also hosted TG4’s Buildings Beo at the end of 2025, which she tells us she “adored” working on.
“I absolutely adored that programme. It took us about three years to make because we had to find something that had fallen apart,” she explains.
“Then we had to come back bit by bit and see it as it got a little bit more developed and more repaired. But it was so interesting to see what you could and what you couldn’t do with old buildings. I loved that. And I learnt so much.”
Of course, we had to ask about The Walsh Sisters, RTÉ’s adaptation of Marian Keyes’ beloved novels including Rachel’s Holiday and Anybody Out There.

Will there be a season two? Well, Carrie is staying positive!
“You’ll have to talk to other people, like Aidan Quinn or Stephanie Preissner, who writes it and ask them. But I think it is going to be coming back,” she says with a firm nod.
“We all think it is going to have a second season. But we can’t be sure.”
