Many fans praised Brian for his positive message, while others added that they’d love to see him reunited with the band.

“You’ll always be the 5th member of Westlife,” one fan said.

“Will there be a ‘Westlife feat. Bryan McFadden’ song in the future, sir? Please make one!” another added.

“Wish u could join them too” another said.

Before the reunion was officially announced back in October, rumours surfaced about Brian returning.

However, the current members of the band – Shane Filan, Mark Feehily, Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan – said it feels right going forward as a four-piece.

“The rumours about Simon Cowell offering tours with Brian is simply untrue. We did meet Simon but we discuss the tour as a four-piece it was never with Brian,” Nicky Byrne explained back in October.

Mark Feehily also added that it just feels right as a foursome.

“I don’t think we feel like anybody’s missing here today,” he said.

“And that’s not in any bad way, that’s just what Westlife is to us now.”

Brian is currently taking part in Dancing on Ice.
