Brian McFadden has insisted that his departure from Westlife is the reason the band stayed together.
The Dublin native sensationally quit the chart topping band in 2004 and he believes that his leaving made Nicky Byrne, Shane Filan, Mark Feehily and Kian Egan revaluate the future of the band.
After Brian’s departure, Westlife performed together for another eight years, before parting ways in 2012.
“If we had been given a break, it might have been different but when I look back now everything happens for a reason.” Brian told the Irish Sun.
“None of the other guys were enjoying it at that stage. They hated it. But when I left, they all got scared with this feeling, how long is it going to last?
“They ended up appreciating what they had again and they started to love it again. They got eight years of something they were taking for granted.”
Brian has now joined forces with former Boyzone star Keith Duffy to form Boyzlife, a duo band that perform a mixture of Westlife and Boyzone’s greatest hits.
Boyzlife will be touring across Ireland and Britain next year, tickets are available here.
