Bob Geldof slammed hundreds of festival goers for wearing Penneys clothing during his performance at Brentwood Festival yesterday.
The Irish singer shocked fans when he launched into a tirade about his fan’s choice of clothing.
The Boom Town Rats were the highly anticipated headliners of the family festival, but Bob’s sensational comments left a lot of audience members disappointed and upset.
The 64-year-old started off the gig by making some audacious comments about the band.
He said, “We don’t do Abba. We don’t do Robbie f*****g Williams. Brentwood, we are the Boomtown Rats.
“We are mega. And you are Brentwood. How do we know that you are Brentwood and we are mega?”
Bob then went on to compliment what a member of his band was wearing and slate his fans for wearing Penneys clothing to a rock festival.
“This (guy) who you’ll remember as a slim handsome young lad is wearing a f**k off purple suit with an elasticated waistband so that when he gets even f*****g fatter you won’t notice. On the other hand Brentwood, you are wearing wall to wall f*****g Primark .
“This is a rock and roll festival. When you come to a rock and roll festival you dress for a rock and roll festival. You can never be too careful.”
Fans took to Twitter to share their outrage at his tirade.
Bob’s certainly got a lot of making up to do!
