Bob Geldof has opened up about the death of his daughter Peaches, revealing that he was left “extremely angry” over the tragedy.
Two years ago, his beloved daughter passed away from a drugs overdose, while his former wife, Paula Yates died in 2000 from the same cause.
Speaking to BBC, Bob said, “I watch against myself getting drippy or sentimental about either of them, although I loved them to the core of my soul, and still do.
“At the time, with Peaches I mean, immediately afterwards, I was extremely angry with her and probably that was the energy you discerned, it wasn’t a positive thing at all.”
The Boomtown Rats star also revealed that he finds himself getting upset over their death, but doesn’t try to dwell on it.
“I’m not incontinent with my blubbing, but when the need arises, I do,” he commented. “I think male crying is somehow different. It seems to come and last a bit, and then it goes.”
Bob recently opened up to Ryan Tubridy on the Late Late Show, revealing that despite the pain always being there, he just has to try get on with it.
“Maybe I’m used to everyone around me dying. Maybe it’s that. You just get on with it.
“Time doesn’t heal, it accommodates. The pain is always there, and at certain, unwanted moments, unheralded moments, you’re at a party with friends, and suddenly this overwhelming sense is in your head,” he said.
