Blathnaid Treacy celebrates ‘last hoorah’ before welcoming her first child

Blathnaid Treacy might be just four weeks away from giving birth, but that wasn’t keeping her away from this year’s 2023 Platinum VIP Style Awards tonight!

In fact, the presenter found it to be a nice relaxing treat, well the pamper session that is.

“This is lovely, we have a little hour pampering, which is just beautiful. Just what we need. So I’m here at Lancome getting my makeup done, I was just over getting my hair done at platinum. So Yeah it’s lovely. The VIPs are always the best night. I missed it last year because I was at a hen party which was also lot’s of fun. I’m delighted to be here this year, even though I will be very very sober, but it’s gonna be fun, so much fun,” she gushed.

Blathnaid will be attending the award ceremony with her hubby Charlie Moon, and the pair are looking forward to a night of fun  before the welcome their first child in just four weeks.

“This is one of our last big nights out before she comes, so I’m gonna be kinda going on maternity leave probably in like 2 weeks. So this is sort of our last hoorah before our lives change forever so yeh, it’ll be so much fun.”

Of course the pair are thrilled to become parents, with the radio DJ sharing her admiration for soon to be dad, Charlie.

“I know he’s gonna be amazing, he’s gonna be great. You know we’ve been together such a long time and he’s just such a sweetheart. He’s been through so much in the last few years, so it’s great that something so lovely and happy and positive is happening.”

“Charlie lost his sister a few years ago, so this is just so nice to have something really lovely to look forward to so and the whole family are really looking forward to it so it’s my family and his obviously as well. So this is grandchild number 12 on my side and grandchild number 4 on his side,” she shared.

With her due date so close the expecting mama confessed she has been busy preparing for her little girls arrival.

Saying: “Oh it’s sunk in for the last 8 months, it’s definitely sunk in. There’s moments where you’re like “whoah this is actually happening” but no I do I feel ready, the nesting is real I’ve been doing lots of nesting the hospital bags are ready to go.”

“Her room is pretty much ready we are going to be sharing a room because my wardrobe is in her room but that’s okay. No honestly I can’t wait, I have all her little clothes laid out and her little outfits, I just think she’s gonna be a miniature Charlie, cause he’s so dark but who the hell knows, who the hell knows.”

“I hope she gets a bit of Treacey in her now because we do have strong genes the Treaceys, I’m the youngest of six and we all look exactly the same so I’m hoping I do get a bit of a look in,” she shared.

When it comes to future plans, the presenter is focusing on the here and now.

“There are no other plans. We can’t make any other plans I’m afraid. My best friend is actually having a baby as well so I’m gonna try and get over to her in London at some point over the summer. Whenever it works for both of us cause we are due around the same time so that’s really cool.”

“So yeah I’m just gonna see how chaotic my life is and then I can start making plans again,” she admitted.

And, of course, it wouldn’t be the most glam night of the year without the inside scoop on Blathnaid’s beauty routine, so the present shared her three dessert island beauty products with us.

“Ooh, okay okay, three beauty products that I can’t live without oh my god. Oh well SPF for the oul’ face I need to have factory 50. I love the Image one cause it’s really moisturising and it smells gorgeous as well. I have been using actually that lip what’s it called the Kerry Hanivan gloss. I’ve been using that and it’s gorgeous. It’s really nourishing and it’s lovely.
