TV favourite Baz Ashmawy marked a major milestone this week — his 50th birthday — and while he originally had no plans to celebrate, the day turned into an unforgettable, sun-soaked gathering full of love, laughter, and a few whiskey sours.
Taking to Instagram to share the moment with his followers, Baz opened up about how he unexpectedly ended up celebrating the big 5-0 in the most heartfelt way.
“Wow I’m 50?!? 🥳🎉🎂… how did that happen?” he wrote, kicking off an emotional post.
Though he made it very clear he didn’t want a party, Baz confessed to caving at the last minute and heading into town with a few close pals.

And what began as a low-key get-together quickly turned into something special, as more friends and family showed up, despite the last-minute invite.
As they drank and elevated in the sun all day, Baz added how “perfect” it all was.
He then couldn’t help but reflect on the highs and lows of his life and the people who’ve stood by him through it all.
“I’ve had loads of ups and downs but you’ve all been with me through thick and thin and I LOVE you,” he wrote.
“I love my family. My Mrs, Mum, Sister and all our kids and grandkids. You’re the best kids.”
He also gave a special shout-out to daughter Amelia, who couldn’t make it on the day, and praised his children for their love, understanding, and support.
The DIY SOS star also shared heartfelt appreciation for his lifelong friends, saying they’ve made the journey of growing older a joyful one.
