Baz Ashmawy, presenter of DIY SOS asked his Instagram followers for help with his current project and was blown away by the response.

Posting a call out on his Instagram Baz said, “I never really explained what I’m doing in New Ross or what DIY SOS we are doing. This is the biggest one we’ve ever tried, we’re trying to build an entire house…”

He explained he is trying to build a home for Johnny and Lynn. Johnny was diagnosed with the most aggressive type of motor neurone disease and Baz wants to give them a home that they can spend time in and heal with their family in this tough time.

He told followers they are in desperate need of some additional help.

“We are in desperate need of skilled carpenters really badly, I don’t care where in the country you are, we could really do with your help if you’re available. I need them like now, or any volunteers that would like to help I would be so ever grateful,” he said.

“So many people came forward, thank you so much it means so much to me” he continued.

He then asked followers for another favour, they are looking for a steel shed (6×8) if anyone has it to donate.

The sense of community behind the show DIY SOS is fantastic to see, we cannot wait to watch the new season.
