Barry Keoghan to attend Irish film festival

Barry Keoghan will be coming home to celebrate Irish cinema this summer.

The Saltburn star has just been announced to be taking on the role of Ringo Starr this week, so he’s a busy man.

He will attend the Fastnet Film Festival as one of the incredible guests at the event.

The festival will run from the 21st to the 25th of May in the seaside village of Schull.

It will feature an exciting lineup of Seminars, Masterclasses, and Workshops covering topics such as Editing, Casting, Auditioning, Cinematography, Acting, Shorts to Feature, Funding, Distribution, Score Composition, Regional Filmmaking, and more.

Fringe events include live music, drama performances, book readings, a movie quiz, café screenings throughout the town, and high-quality, free family entertainment.

Domhnall Gleeson will also be in attendance at the event.

Domhnall has captivated audiences with his extraordinary performances across film, television, and theatre. Recently starring in Enda Walsh’s Medicine and HBO’s The White House Plumbers, his career spans critically acclaimed films such as Star Wars, Ex Machina, Brooklyn, and The Revenant.

Known for his remarkable ability to embody complex characters, he has collaborated with some of the most celebrated directors and actors in the industry. From heartfelt dramas to blockbuster franchises, his depth and talent make him one of the finest actors of his generation.

Maria Doyle Kennedy will also be joining this year’s Fastnet Film Festival in Schull, West Cork, in May. With over three decades of experience in the arts, Maria has sustained a varied and eclectic career as an actor, musician, and filmmaker.

She began her acting career in 1990 with a starring role in Alan Parker’s cult classic The Commitments and has since featured in over 50 films and TV series, including The General (directed by John Boorman), Cartoon Saloon’s Wolfwalkers, The Tudors, Downton Abbey, Orphan Black, Outlander, Kin, and one of her personal favourites – an episode of Father Ted.
