Aoibhinn McGinnity and Tom Vaughan-Lawlor are set to reunite for a new tv series about the 1916 Easter Rising.
The former Love/Hate stars will begin shooing, Trial Of The Century, for TV3 this week in Smithfield, ahead of the Spring/Summer release.
The new historical drama will touch on what would have happened if the leaders were sent to court, instead of executed, so will be filming in Green Street Courthouse in the coming days.
An insider told The Mirror that Tom will portray Padraig Pearse, while Aoibhinn will take on the roles of Catherine Foster, a grieving mother.
Another star appearing in the show, is Anthony Brophy from Red Rock, and he admitted that in order the play the role of Eoin MacNeill correctly, he’ll need to brush up on his knowledge of history.
Speaking to the newspaper, he said, “It’s quite contentious. It’s a very good script and I have to get my head around it.
“It’s such a close subject to all Irish hearts.
“I’m a very poor historian so I’ll be going into it with an open mind and an open heart, and just hope that whatever’s in the script is truthful to play.”
We can’t WAIT for this!
