Fair City actress Aoibhin Garrihy has opened up about her impending nuptials, revealing that she’s due to marry her long term love, John Burke, this September in the lavish Armada Hotel.
John owns the hotel in Co Clare, and knows exactly how to make it the most beautiful wedding venue ever.
Speaking to the Sunday Independent, Aoibhinn said, “John has done lots of weddings in the hotel business, which is brilliant. He knows all the dos and don’ts so it hasn’t been stressful.”
Aoibhinn on the other hand, isn’t quite as calm about the whole situation.
“I get bursts of energy and then I get a little overwhelmed by the whole thing and need to take a breather. But everything is going great,” she said.
While the planning is already underway, Aoibhin revealed to VIP that she doesn’t want her wedding to be too over the top.
“For some people, a massive, extravagant wedding is what they’ve always dreamed of, but I was never the person to think about their big day, their dream dress, their prince and the rest of it.
“I knew I wanted to get married, but the wedding part was never a huge goal for me. Nowadays, people are expected to put this big production extravaganza together, and that would make me run a mile,” she said.
