Anne Casin has been wowing us every week on the dancefloor on Dancing with the Stars. And this week promises to be no different.
She even teases that her dance includes plenty of lifts.
Speaking to VIP Magazine, she teases: “We’ve been rehearsing the lift. I’m not at all bothered about being lifted. I just want to descend elegantly.”
She’ll be pulling out all the stops for Dedicated Dance Week. The Nationwide presenter will honour her dear mother Nancy, who passed away just weeks after she gave birth to her first child.
Anne and her partner Robert Rowiński will dance an American Smooth to ‘Don’t Stop’ by Fleetwood Mac, a song that brings her back to her childhood.

“It was a very rapid decision by me. I decided that I wanted it to be more personal, and the obvious person in my mind was my mother. It really didn’t take too long for me to come up with that. She has been dead for 27 years but we’re not focusing on that,” she shares with us.
“She has been the person, along with my father, but particularly in terms of humanity or values, and how she raised the five of us, really shaped the person that I have become. It was a way to pay tribute to her.”
Was her plan always to get to Dedicated Dance Week? Well, yes and no.
“I wanted to get to the dedicated dance week because it’s a chance for people to reveal a little bit more about themselves, and to find out about their story, whether it’s personal or whether it’s an issue they’re highlighting,” she shares.

“Was it a goal? My mental attitude to this really has been to take it week by week. I think overprojecting can really land you into unnecessary worry. My approach has been to go week by week, dance by dance. The hardest dance is the one that’s coming up and the easiest one is the one that you’ve just done.”
This week, there’ll be no elimination but that doesn’t mean they can relax.
“The pressure is always on the next dance. So, back to the same old theme, the easiest dance is the one you’ve just done, and the hardest dance is the one that you’re about to do! So it doesn’t take the pressure off because you want to do as well as possible but it’s nice to know that nobody is going home.”
Dancing with the Stars airs Sundays at 6:30pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player
