Viewers were left very unhappy with Angela Scanlon after she made an ‘insensitive’ and ‘tasteless’ comment on The One Show.

The 33-year-old, who’s standing in for Alex Jones, co-hosted last night’s show alongside Matt Baker and everything was going well until they interviewed Death In Paradise stars Don Warrington and Kris Marshall.

Matt asked the pair, who play police in the crime comedy series, to help them solve a fictional murder mystery.

“It’s a good job you’re here because we need you to try solve this murder.” Matt said.

“I’ll tell you the story .. two friends eat dinner together. They both ordered iced tea. One drank fast and downed five iced teas in the time it took the other one to drink just one.

“The diner who drank one died while the other one who drank five survived.

“All of the drinks were poisoned. So the question is why did the diner who only drank one iced tea die?”

Angela jokingly responded saying, “Was it a peanut allergy? It’s always a peanut allergy.”

Angela was a big hit with viewers, until her slip up yesterday.

Unfortunately for the Meath native, viewers did not take her comment in the humorous manner it was intended, with many branding the joke ‘insensitive’ and ‘tasteless’ and some even demanding an apology.
