“An incredible woman,” Actress Lynn Rafferty pays touching tribute to late nana

Actress Lynn Rafferty has posted a touching tribute to her nana after revealing that she has passed away.

The Taken Down star took to Instagram to celebrate her grandmother’s life by sharing memories and stories about her life.

“The next two days will be spent seeing our amazing Nana Essie off on her last journey.  From working as a welder during the war to raising 6 children in Sheriff street on nothing, your strength is something that will live on forever,” she said.

Lynn shared a sweet photo of the pair as well as a photo from her childhood.

Thank you for all the Wednesday clubs & stories that will keep us laughing forever. Thank you for being a such an incredible woman we were all so lucky to have for 98 years. We will keep the force of your fierce energy with us every day. Two glasses of Guinness will be waiting for you wherever you are, and every Guinness raised will be raised for you. TO ESTHER!

She praised the 98-year-old, whose name was Esther, for always remaining positive.

“Throughout any hardships & heartbreak that came your way you always had a smile on your face and a positive glint in your eye for the unknown of what was next,” she said.

Friends, followers and costars took to the comments to share their sympathies.

“Lots of love Lynn,” Taken Down costar Taby Ruigu said.

Another added: “Awh Lynn I’m so sorry for your loss, sending love and hugs.”

“My heart goes out to you Lynn” another said.
