Amy Huberman has revealed the ‘irrational fear’ she had while being pregnant, and the fear that she wasn’t ‘prepared’ to be a mother.

The Finding Joy star is mam to three kids, Sadie, Billy and Ted, but spoke of her fears the first time she became pregnant.

Speaking on her Mamia and Me podcast with her two guests Kevin McGahern and Tony Cantwell, Amy asked the pair if they felt prepared to become dads for the first time, explaining that she didn’t feel prepared for her first pregnancy.

“I don’t think I was prepared and I had nine months of the kid being in me. I remember I had this weird irrational and maybe it wasn’t irrational fear that I wasn’t going to like the kid. I was like, ‘What if I’m an anomaly and I go, ‘Eh, it’s grand’.

She continued, “It’s like, ‘I’m sacrificing a lot here I hope they’re cute and deadly’. And again that’s just your fears compounded and denial and that shift.”

Also on the podcast, Amy spoke about how homeschooling her kids during the lockdown was a “nightmare”.

Speaking about the lockdown and homeschooling, Amy shared: “The lovely bits were lovely and you felt grateful to have your little ones and your other half. I will say homeschooling was not gorgeous.

“So when I had my little fella at Christmas as well that was the hardest part because you know when things opened up at Christmas and I was like, ‘Oh this is great,’ and then everything went to s**t real quick.

“All I could think was my little maternity leave was closing and the homeschooling was a nightmare for me mostly rather than them it was intense.”
