2025 was a huge year for Irish band Amble!
And 2026 is starting even stronger…
Ross McNerney, the mandolin player in the band, has shared that he popped the question to his partner, Emma Mulligan, to kick off the new year.

The couple shared some beautiful pictures of their romantic walk, where Ross got down on one knee to pop the question.
Using lyrics from their beloved song Lonely Island, the caption simply read: “Is not an island for one!”
The couple seemed to be completely alone for their romantic moment in the Irish countryside.
Ross and Emma keep their relationship private, with the couple first sharing pictures on social media in 2023. However, one comment mentioned that they are “coming a long way from DCU days”.

The last picture Ross shared before the engagement announcement was of the couple embracing following the band’s four soldout shows in December.
“The confetti had settled. Thank you to everyone who has listened to our music this year, and making 2025 a year I will never forgot!! In the words of Robbie ‘if you keep listening, we will keep singing’ !” he wrote at the time.
Well, it looks like 2026 is also another year not to forget!
