Amber Wilson is “pushing [herself] to the limit” on Dancing with the Stars.
She got off to a rocky start with a score of just 14 from the judges. However, this week she received a score of 24 this week for her spicy tango.
She has really been finding her feet on the dancefloor, and she admitted that she has an incredible “support system” around her. Including the winner of the fifth season of Dancing with the Stars, Nina Carberry.
“Based on Arthur’s comments, he had mentioned a previous contestant, Nina Carberry,” she tells VIP Magazine after Sunday night.

“She was apparently quite like myself, a bit of a stickman. I reached out to her on Instagram, and she actually sent me a voice note. It was very kind, she didn’t have to do that. She checked in with me to check how rehearsals went. There’s lots of kindness in the world.”
Another support is her sister, Vogue and Amber promises that she will be in the audience very soon.
“She is coming this week. She might come, if I’m still in it, a couple of weeks after that,” she teases.
Amber explains that she is still working her job in PR as well as practising six days a week. We have to know how she is balancing the busy schedule.

“I was more stressed before Christmas. It is more of a balancing act. People were saying it to me last week, ‘Where do you get all of this energy?’ I’m not too sure either, because I am 42, but it doesn’t seem to be slowing me down,” she admits.
“I embrace everything I do. I thoroughly enjoy my job, and I thoroughly enjoy coming in and dancing with Alex. I’m really grateful for the opportunity.”
Unlike most of the rest of the contestants on this year’s Dancing with the Stars, Amber has never performed before.
“It was just insane levels of adrenaline. It’s all about managing that because I could feel it coming on again this week,” she tells us of the live show.

“There’s a psychologist on site, Eddie Murphy, who I had a chat with last week, and we discussed grounding methods and stuff to ensure that you don’t lose the head. It’s all about having a good time.”
Amber and her pro-partner, Alex Vladimirov, have made history as the same all-women duo on Dancing with the Stars.
“It’s incredibly important to me because when I was growing up, there wasn’t much representation on screen. I think it’s really refreshing to see it and just ensure that people see this is the norm,” Amber says of the importance.
“That it’s not necessarily these outdated, archaic societal expectations of a male-female dynamic that you see on screen.
“It’s quite powerful for young people to see this on screen as well. Hopefully this will fill them with confidence if they are struggling with their sexuality and nervous about being honest with their family and friends about it and it gives them the strength to do that.”
Dancing with the Stars airs Sundays at 6:30pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player
