All the biggest stars congratulating Katie Taylor on her historic win

Irish boxer Katie Taylor achieved an impressive victory over her opponent Amanda Serrano, earning the 21st win in her professional career.

Their fight was the first female boxing match to headline Madison Square Garden, and many considered it to be one of the biggest moments in female boxing history. Understanding the importance of this win not only for Katie but also women’s boxing, many notable stars have been showering praise on the Bray native.

Hollywood hunk and pro wrestler The Rock sent his congratulations to Katie and Amanda on Twitter. Writing; “What a monumental, defining and historic night in boxing. Been enjoying this build up. So happy for and proud of [Katie Taylor] and [Amanda Serrano] + all the women of boxing.”

Fellow boxer Kellie Harrington was in awe of Katie and her amazing performance. Taking to Twitter, she wrote; “Incredible, absolutely incredible. What a warrior KT.”

Singer Niall Horan celebrated saying; “What a performance from both ladies!! So happy for [Katie Taylor]”

Katie’s friend Conor McGregor was a proud supporter of the event and congratulated the boxer after her win. Writing; “Katie Taylor The Greatest! Absolutely incredible boxing! Take a bow ladies! What a contest!”

While former pro-boxer Barry McGuigan a.k.a. The Clones Cyclone, was quick to show his support for the boxing star. Saying on Twitter; “Congratulations [Katie Taylor] & [Amanda Serrano]”

While American boxer Ryan Garcia couldn’t help but gush; “I just witnessed one of the best fights ever and in my humble opinion Katie pulled it off.”

“I have so much respect for these woman absolutely inspirational honored to have witnessed that, I hope you get all the money you deserve and I’m so happy you guys rocked that better the any man I seen.”

And sharing a pic of himself and Katie, he wrote; “Truly Honored, you are so inspiring Katie and you deserve it all.”

Great to see the massive Irish support.”

While before the fight, Hollywood actress Charlize Theron shared her amazement at Katie and Amanda’s achievement in headlining the iconic venue. Writing; “About f*cking time!”

Only took 140 years to get 2 female fighters to headline MSG, but Katie Taylor & Amanda Serrano did the damn thing. You ladies inspire the hell out of me & women everywhere – cant wait to watch”
