Only recently, Aisling O’Loughlin, admitted that she’s taking some time away from Xpose, but now the presenter has opened up about the reason why.
Aisling has had a tough number of months, what with her husband Nick undergoing chemotherapy for leukaemia in late 2014, her giving birth to their second child Louis, and then the constantly hectic lifestyle of an Xpose presenter thrown in on top.
While it wasn’t an easy time for her, Aisling admits that she would have felt more pressure surrounding all these issues if it wasn’t for her husband who was a constant bubble of positivity.
Speaking to TVNow Magazine, Aisling said, “Throughout his treatment, he has always been positive. I don’t think he ever thought it would get the better of him. It’s very much a roll of the dice and he was one of the lucky ones.”
Aisling and Nick have two young children, Patrick aged three and Louis who has just turned one, and the new mom found it difficult to juggle everything life was throwing at her.
“It was awful obviously, and more awful for Nick than anyone else. I had a beautiful baby to hold and it was a time when I was with the child all the time as I was breastfeeding. I don’t recall it as being a black time, I recall it as being a very busy time,” she said.
Now that things have finally settled down for the family, Aisling plans to jet them all off to France for some well needed, and well deserved time off to relax.
Aisling said, “I’m taking the whole month of August off because it is so busy, especially with two little children to spend time with. We’re off to France to hang out on the beach and build sandcastles. Myself, Nick and the children are going, and we’re going to do very little, that’s the plan.”
