Aimee Connolly is set to walk down the aisle this summer.
And as all brides-to-be will know, wedding planning is never a fun event. When VIP Magazine catches up with Aimee, she jokes about “neglecting” her planning.
“I had a great start of the year, I did a lot of travel and we launched across the Middle East about two weeks ago,” she tells us as we chat at the launch of the Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon.
“On a personal level, as well as work being busy, I’m also planning a wedding…which I’m not really planning. I’m kind of neglecting but it’s really lovely. There’s so much to look forward to.”
She admits: “In my line of work, events are something that we do all the time. So the enormity of it doesn’t feel overwhelming. I’m just going through the motions.
“I am obviously so excited for the actual day itself. We have all the key things booked, so I’d say we’re on track. I just don’t think about it all the time!”
She jokes that being an ambassador for the Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon means that she has no excuse not to keep up her running.
“Having a goal of a race looming helps to keep you motivated over the months. I’m also getting married in August so I will very kindly accept the motivation to keep up the running in some way,” she explains.
With wedding planning and running her successful business, Sculpted by Aimee, when does she have time to run?
“I’m much better at operating at that level,” she laughs.
“If I stop I actually do the reverse. We actually have a running club at work on Monday at lunch. Or I might do it straight after work or just before because if I sit down and think about it I wouldn’t get back up.
“So the key for me is to plan it into my day and keep ploughing through. Then you can be really proud of yourself when it’s done.”
