Netflix has been treating us as of late thanks to the addition of a string of new shows.
However, now it looks like they’ve added back an old favourite.
Yes, after first appearing on the streaming giant back in 2021, The Deceived from Derry Girls creator Lisa McGee and her husband, Tobias Beer, has now been added back to Netflix.
So for those who missed out the first time around, now’s your chance!
The six-part psychological thriller stars an array of Irish talent including Paul Mescal, Emmett J. Scanlan, Ian McElhinney and Louisa Harland.
Filmed in Belfast and Cambridge, the story follows Ophelia, who has an affair with her lecturer and falls pregnant.
But when her lecturer’s well-known wife dies things get eery as he insists Ophelia wear her clothes and live in their home.
Speaking previously to the Irish Examiner about the project, Paul said: “I am a massive Derry Girls fan so naturally the first thing that jumped out at me were Lisa and Tobias’s names, that is always going to be exciting.
“The fact that this was a psychological drama didn’t particularly surprise or confuse me because the standard of the writing in Derry Girls is so good.
“It is hilarious and the quality of the script is so high that I had no trepidation over whether this would work or not.”
Paul plays the role of a fireman who gets to know Ophelia during the madness that proceeds after the tragic death – we’re intrigued!
The show first premiered on Channel 5 in 2020 and safe to say it’s gained quite the dedicated following since.
