Picture This stars reveal they suffered from long Covid

Members of the band Picture This Ryan Hennessy and Jimmy Rainsford have revealed the extent of their Covid experience and how it impacted their music.

The bandmates tested positive for the coronavirus earlier this year and had a lasting version of the effects known as Long Covid.

Ryan Hennessy told the Irish Mirror, “I didn’t have it too bad. I woke up with a tight chest one day and felt a bit like I had a cold. That was it for me, I didn’t really suffer in terms of my health, but I had it for so long. I had long Covid.”

Ryan also revealed that he was still testing positive a month later, which caused him delays in getting back to the studio, ”

“I couldn’t leave the house and we had studio sessions booked in and I just had to keep going back to get tested,” he explained.

“It stayed in my system for so long, which was frustrating.”

Jimmy Rainsford said that although it stayed in his system for 10 days, his symptoms lasted for a month and were very severe, “I was broke up. I couldn’t get out of bed,” he said.

“It was an annoyance more than anything else, the constant tiredness and I had nausea constantly…It would come in really hard waves for like an hour a day. I would be in bits but then eventually it just faded away…We don’t know when we got it but in March this year. The month of March was bad but after that, we were OK,” he continued.

Luckily the guys are feeling a lot better now just in time for the release of their new album and the announcement of their Irish tour dates. The band will have three shows December 16th-18th in Killarney as their only Irish tour dates this year.

Tweeting about the Killarney dates Ryan said, “Killarney and the INEC has a special place in my heart. always such a crazy and amazing atmosphere!! can’t wait to experience it again with you all this year!!”.

We can’t wait to get back to a concert!
