From his favourite show to his guilty pleasure, his proudest moment to his most embarrassing one, here, we spend ten minutes with actor Fiachna O’Braoináin to get to know him a little better.
Where were you doing last night?
I was playing a three-hour selection of music on RTÉ Radio 1’s Late Date which I present!
What’s on your tv series link?
I’m in that rare category of people who don’t watch TV! We have a screen for Netflix, Disney and Apple TV, but it is entirely dominated by the kids!
What’s your takeaway of choice?
The most incredible Indian food from Tiffin by Sunil. It’s a huge treat for everyone!
Who’s your broadcasting hero?
Gay Byrne… an extraordinary presence on television and radio down the years.
What’s been your most embarrassing moment on air or in public?
Being caught at home doing my best Saturday Night Fever dance moves by my Uncle Stephen, when I was a tender, self-conscious 13-year-old!
Is there a motto or piece of advice that you live by?
Play from your wounded place….
Tell us a secret about yourself.
I worked as a golf caddy in New York when I left school… But I had no idea what clubs to recommend when my advice was sought by the players! I did buy my first electric guitar from the proceeds though!
What’s your ideal date?
Dinner at Le Grand 8 in Montmartre in Paris with my wife. It’s one of the most incredible organic restaurants in the world.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Caramel digestives!
What’s been your proudest moment so far?
The birth of all my children and their magical progress through life!
