Daniel O’Donnell‘s Strictly Come Dancing run is over – and no one is more devastated than his supportive wife Majella.
The Donegal crooner was voted off the BBC show last night, and according to Majella, “nerves got the better of him”.
Daniel constantly spoke of his worries taking part in the show, most recently admitting: “I’ve done shows for so many years and have been on stage, it kind of took me by surprise. But I suppose I was out of my comfort zone and that’s why I felt so nervous.”
But his wife of a decade says she couldn’t be prouder of his tv appearance. “Ah well it’s over!!!! The nerves got him. He did his best & thats all you can ask of him. I’m a very proud wife!” he tweeted.
“I want to thank everyone for all the support you have given. Found that very emotional. @KRihanoff wish it could have been different!”
Daniel’s dancing partner Kristina also posted on Twitter: “Can’t find words to express my appreciation for your kind words for Daniel &I. So glad I got an opportunity to get to know a great person.”
Famous fans also tweeted their disappointment that he will no longer be in the competition, including tv presenter Zoe Ball, who wrote: #tears so loved every minute of watching Daniel O’Donnell dance on @bbcstrictly charming, generous, hilarious& a proper chap.”
