Niall Horan teamed up with Irish rugby legend Paul O’Connell yesterday to play for Team Europe at Celebrity Ryder Cup. The Irish portion of the team played against musician Huwy Lewis and actor Bill Murray, who were there for Team USA.
The match took place at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Minnesota. Former One Direction star Niall was active on social media throughout the day sharing pics and videos, calling it “incredible.”
On Instagram he shared a snap and wrote, “What an incredible day..Got to represent the Irish portion with one of my all time heroes in Paul O’Connell and play infront of a huge crowd for the celeb match against Huey Lewis and the funniest man I’ve ever met Bill Murray. It was laughs from start to finish.
“Didn’t personally play as well as I can play but we did the job and halved our game..Being around that course and seeing the atmosphere and the masses of people watching makes me so excited to be here and I cannot wait for Friday when it all kicks off and gets goin .. Cmon Europe.”
Despite not being personally happy with his golfing technique during the match, the Mulingar native did say that he had a great day and he loved the experience.
On Twitter he wrote, “Great day today..loved it..tired now..have a beer, watch more golf on tv and sleep!”
Congratulations to all involved!
