Amazing news for Kathryn Thomas today, as the RTE star has just revealed that she’s engaged. Long-term love Padraig McLoughlin popped the question at Ballyfin House in Laois last weekend.
The pair have been together since 2013, and had discussed the possibility of one day being husband and wife, but Kathryn says that her hubby-to-be caught her completely off guard with the proposal.
Speaking to the Independent.ie the Operation Transformation host said, “We were back in the room. I was there with the hair scrapped back, in a dressing gown and white slippers eating a pack of peanuts is when it happened.
“I thought he was going to propose at Christmas last year so I shouldn’t have been surprised but I don’t think you’re ever ready for someone to ask you that.
“I bawled, I cried my eyes out. I didn’t think it was going to feel this special, but it is wonderful.
“We had talked about it on and off for the last six months. I might have dropped a few Pinterest pictures. Just a few!”
While the couple have yet to set a date, they’re aiming for 2018. The fitness fanatic is just enjoying the celebrations for the moment.
“There is lots going on work wise, I am saying 2018 to take the pressure off.
“It has been mental trying to tell everybody. And it’s been champagne and drinks but it’s so nice to celebrate something like this with all your friends and family,” she said.
