Glenda Gilson has shared her relieve as her pregnancy journey begins to get easier.

The TV3 presenter revealed she had a very difficult first few months as found it difficult during work.

At six-months along the star is showing no signs of stopping as she’s still in full work mode, which she says is at lot easier now that she is not as sick.

“I’m feeling a little bit jet-lagged I literally only flew in from Miami last night I was there for Swim Week which was fantastic,” she told VIP Magazine.

“I’m feeling good and I’m not getting sick every day, it’s only really every second or third day. I can’t believe it’s six months. You think it’s a long haul and then all of a sudden you’re this far, y’know!”

She explained that after a previous difficult work trip, she enlisted the help of husband Rob MacNaughton for Miami.

“Rob came with me on this trip because I needed a bit of help just in case… I went to Cannes and I when I interviewed Jane Fonda I was really really ill, so he said ‘look I’ll come with you and give you a bit of support.’

“Thankfully I was fine, so it was okay. When it’s somewhere cool like Miami it’s a lot of fun but when you’re sick, you’re sick but it was really good.”

Glenda explained that her unpredictable pregnancy made her feel worried about interviewing big stars.

“When I was in Cannes the mornings weren’t great for me and I interviewed Jane in the morning, so then you get nervous and I kind of get anxiety about things. But thankfully I haven’t had any embarrassing moments.”

37-year-old Glenda explained that it’s all new to her, as it is her first baby, and while much of it is tough, she is at the stage now where she can see the positive aspects the pregnancy has on her health.

“The first few months go slow when you don’t have a bump or you don’t really feel pregnant, and because you’re getting used to your body changing. Women know all about this on their second and third time, but not the first one.

“I’m kind of getting to a nice stage now because I’ve had it so tough, I’m enjoying this stage, your skin is good, your hair is good you look in the mirror and your eyes are bright because you’re sleeping so much and there is no badness going into your body. It’s just a few little aches and pains that might upset you but it’s looking up, I’m feeling much better so I’m going to embrace it for a while.”

Though sickness is to be expected during pregnancy, the Xpose host revealed the way her body changed and the difference in energy levels was a shock to her.

“The way your body goes has surprised me, and how tired I am in the evenings. When I come in I’m just wrecked and I’m not used to that I’ve loads of energy usually and I’m going full throttle.

“But also you feel good in yourself because there is no alcohol in your system and you’re sleeping a lot, so other than the tiredness and the sickness and a bit of heartburn, I’m fine.”

While there is plenty of old wives tales and superstitious about the baby’s gender, the couple chose not to find out what they were having.

“We kept it a surprise, but of course, people are looking at me and saying ‘oh you’re having a girl I know by you, or you’re having a boy I know by the shape of you. Look it’s going to be one or the other as long as it’s healthy and strong and lovely that’s all anyone would wish for.”

Ireland’s Got Mór Talent duo, Glenda Gilson and James Kavanagh are heading on a road trip to promote Virgin Media’s Drive-In Movie series.

To celebrate the arrival of Ireland’s fastest broadband network in Wexford, Dundalk and Ennis, Virgin Media are bringing the ultimate movie experience to these towns this summer.
