Irish premiere screening of Daddy’s Home at The Savoy Cinema in O Connell Street, Dublin.
Hollywood stars Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg created serious excitement in Dublin last night when they jetted in to attend the Irish premiere of their new comedy, ‘Daddy’s Home’.
The A-listers walked the red carpet at the Savoy Cinema, posing for selfies with hundreds of dedicated fans, who waited for hours in the rain to catch a glimpse of the stars.
Dressed in a smart grey suit and black scarf, Anchorman star Will cut a dapper figure as he posed for the paparazzi and enthusiastically chatted to the media.
Speaking to VIP, the 48-year-old admitted he was thrilled to be back in Ireland, his 12th time to visit the country.
“I always have a great time when I’m here,” he said. Admittedly a little hungover from his pints of Guinness with Mark the night before, the funnyman joked that his co-star was much worse off.
“I’m okay, I didn’t really tie one on. Ask the other guy,” he joked.
As ever, Will proudly talked about his Irish ancestry, and his family links in Co. Longford. “We’d like to find a more direct connection from a family tree perspective, but anyone who has ever asked, I tell them ‘I’m Irish’.
“We were there a few years ago (in Longford) and word got out that I was in town and I think at least 500 people turned up at some pub to see me, it was crazy. I ended up drinking ’till 2am in some Irish lawyer’s house. Standard evening…”

In fact, the Old School star told VIP that he’d love to make a movie over here:
“I would love to come and work here, I have friends who have worked here and I know David Benioff, the creator of Game of Thrones, which they shoot up in the North, so you know…
“It’s just hard to convince American studios to just come over and shoot in Ireland for no good reason.”
At this point, a fellow reporter suggested he could do a sequel to Elf over here – starring Buddy’s Leprechaun cousin. “There we go. Okay. I like that!” Will laughed.
Daddy’s Home hits theaters nationwide on December 26.
