How exciting is this?!

US superstar Bruce Springsteen will rock Croke Park this summer, with a possible three dates lined up for May.

Following the rumour mill going into overdrive, it’s been confirmed that ‘The Boss’ will perform for two nights in the Dublin GAA headquarters on the weekend of May 27-29 as part of ‘The River Tour 2016’.

However, a third date, Sunday 29, may be added to the Friday and Saturday gigs if the demand is there. Tickets will go on sale Thursday February 11 at 9 am from all Ticketmaster outlets nationwide.

The concerts come following three gigs last year that went without a hitch – Irish band The Script played there in June, while Ed Sheeran sang to sold-out crowds for two nights the following month.

However, the country can hardly forget the controversy surrounding Garth Brooks in Croker the year prior; after the number of concerts increased from three to five nights, there was uproar by locals, leading to permission being refused for the extra two gigs.

But Garth insisted five or none, leading to all performances being cancelled and 400,000 fans being bitterly disappointed.

With Bruce Springsteen’s gigs, GAA games will have to be moved to alternative dates, so hopefully there won’t be too much drama this time round…
