Who’s the blonde? Bono hits the bleach bottle for bike accident skit

The U2 frontman recreated his Central Park cycling accident for Jimmy Fallon's US chat show

Bono is the blonde, in case you’re wondering…

Bono has recreated his traumatic bike accident as part of a skit for for Jimmy Fallon’s “The Tonight Show” in The US – and has debuted a seriously dodgy do!

The U2 frontman bleached his hair blonde and got back in the saddle, reconstructing the accident that left him seriously injured.

Bono and Fallon were seen cycling side by side in Manhattan with The Tonight Show host riding a child’s bicycle, complete with a floral basket and streamers.

Although it was Bono’s bike that looked the more roadworthy, it was the singer who was seen being hit by a van and catapulted into the air.

Of course, it wasn’t actually Bono that was thrown in front of the van, but a very similarly dressed dummy.

Mostly healed now, the singer suffered from a fractured eye socket and an arm broken in six places when he fell off his bike in Central Park last November.

Despite the fact that he may never play guitar again, he made light of the situation by joking about it with funnyman Fallon.

U2 are beginning a worldwide tour later this month and it will be the first time that the Irish star will take to the stage since his accident.

Bono has described the tour as “stripped down, minimal and raw” in a pre-recorded interview with the late Today FM radio host Tony Fenton which was broadcast yesterday.

The much-loved radio DJ passed away in March after a long battle with cancer. He was invited to talk to Bono after the singer learned of his illness and it was to be Fenton’s last ever interview.

The dates of U2’s Ireland appearances are yet to be announced but the band did say that they won’t be performing in 3Arena.
