Viewers left very confused over this one thing on First Dates Ireland last night

As usual, First Dates Ireland had the nation talking last night, but this time the topic of conversation was about the unusual table etiquette of a certain guest on the show.

Yesterday’s programme saw Lady Gaga diehard fan Sunil and Wes from Ballymun try to hit it off on their first date in The Gibson Hotel, under the watchful eyes of the Irish public.

All seemed to be going well for the love hopefuls, until Wes pulled out his own set of cutlery for their romantic meal.

“I might as well let you know now, before you get freaked out. I bring cutlery everywhere.” he said.

“My mam was like ‘Are you taking that cutlery? You better bring it home!

“I have a bad habit of doing this. I carry my own hand sanitiser as well and I hate when people sneeze,”

Luckily for Wes, Sunil didn’t seem to mind his unusual behaviour and agreed to see him again.

Sunil even took to Twitter to share details of what happened off-screen.

“Addition to update: Wes and I ate each other’s faces downstairs in Pantibar after filming,” he wrote.

It seems love truly does conquer all – even odd table etiquette!
