There is no denying that Conor McGregor has had a major influence on Irish sport fans and aspiring MMA competitors, but it turns out he’s also inspiring actors in the character portrayal.
Tom Hardy is one person who used The Notorious as his muse for a recent film.
The 40-year-old actor plays Venom in the upcoming film of the same name.
Hardy plays Eddie Brock who transforms into Spider-Man’s arch nemeses, Venom.
The actor explained that it’s a diverse role as he is playing two versions on one man.
“The character has an ethical framework, the alien by virtue of coming from another planet doesn’t have the same ethical framework, and they have to work out how to be together so they click,” he told Esquire.
He also described the character as “somebody who’s contracted a tropical disease and gone mad”.
While the evil Venom “one of those rappers from the Nineties, big voices: Redman or Method Man and James Brown”, the actor explained that Brock was “a mixture of Woody Allen and Conor McGregor, tortured neurosis but also bravado”.
