Ronan Keating’s brother Ciaran tragically passed away following a road collision in Co. Mayo

Ronan Keating’s older brother Ciaran has tragically passed away following a car crash in Co. Mayo.

The Irish Independent reported, Ciaran and his wife Annemarie were travelling to watch their son Ruari play for Cork City in their match against Sligo Rovers yesterday evening when the two-vehicle accident on the N5 at Ballymiles occured.

Ann Marie is said to have been treated for non-life threating injuries at Mayo University Hospital, but unfortunately Ciaran’s injuries proved fatal.

Originally living in Mayo, Ciaran and his family relocated to Dublin 15 years ago.

There he worked as a car salesman and previously ran Maxwells bar in Lecanvey. While Annemarie worked as a secondary teacher.

The driver of the other vehicle and a passenger are understood to have also received treatment for injuries.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Swinford Garda Station on (094) 925 2990, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Keating family during this difficult time
