Robbie Keane’s next career venture could see him returning to Ireland. The former international soccer player announced last week that he was leaving LA Galaxy after spending five years with the club.

Rumours recently suggested that the Dublin native may have had his eye on Kevin Doyle’s Colorado Rapids, but today the Irish Daily Star report that Robbie has been in “exploratory talks” with Shamrock Rovers, with an intention of moving to Tallaght stadium.

The 36-year-old already has links with Shamrock Rovers as he is originally from Tallaght himself. His former Republic of Ireland teammate Damien Duff is also a current coach with the League of Ireland squad.

The newspaper also claim that Robbie and his wife Claudine want to make the move back to Dublin with their two sons, 7-year-old Robert and 1-year-old Hudson.

We’d be delighted to have them back!
