Pippa O’Connor has shared an inspiring message to Leaving Cert students as their results were released this morning.
The model and mum reassured students that anything is possible, sharing her own experience as an example.
Pippa reveals that she didn’t enjoy school and wasn’t given much encouragement from her teachers about her love of fashion and beauty.
Taking to Instagram the designer posted a quote saying ‘Everything is figureoutable’.
The caption read: “Thinking of all the leaving certs today(&parents❤)”
Sharing her own memory of the stressful day, Pippa revealed she refrained from opening results straight away.
“I remember that morning well.. I didn’t open my results for hours- I was dreading it.
“I never felt like everyone else in school- I felt they knew where they were going and I hadn’t a clue. All I knew was I liked fashion & beauty- I spent my days getting into trouble over it (make up wasn’t allowed in school nor did they take kindly to me styling up my uniform!!) I remember being told “Pippa you’re a disaster” when I was in 6th year!!”
The 32-year-old added that while it is important at the time, it’s not the be-all and end-all.
“Yes of course it’s important at the time and we all want to succeed but to those that maybe disappointed today (like I was) it’s not the end of the world & everything will work out just the way it’s suppose to in the end. You simply have to believe in yourself & know that you can do whatever you want to do (how many people actually believe in themselves?) xx”
