Operation Transformation leader Jean Tierney has revealed she’s expecting a baby later this year.

The Limerick native went through three previous heartbreaks when trying to have a child.

She had an ectopic pregnancy in 2017. In January of last year, she devastatingly lost her five-day-old baby Sloane after her daughter fell ill, and then suffered a miscarriage some months later.

Now, Jean is thrilled at the prospect of becoming a mum again – but has decided to step away from Operation Transformation in order to focus her attention on the pregnancy.

“Clearly it wasn’t planned, but isn’t that the best thing ever,” she said on the show last night.

“For me, this is the way to do it. I have a little baby growing inside me and that’s just fricking amazing.

“It’s just so cool, and hopefully, it will get there perfectly. And if it doesn’t, well then that’s a different road to climb.”

Taking to social media last night, Operation Transformation host Kathryn Thomas shared her well-wishes with the expectant parents.

“Huge congratulations Jean and Paddy,” she began.

“Sending you all the love and positivity possible in this world. You deserve every ounce of it.

“Sometimes you find yourself on a road you had no idea you would travel, and it’s the people you meet along the way that make it the most memorable journey. What a journey it’s been, Jean.”
