It doesn’t look as if Ireland will be getting a white Christmas this year. In fact it’s set to be a fairly wet one, so batten down the hatches.

The country is facing five days of turbulent weather this festive season, and those travelling home are being urged to stay safe. A status yellow weather warning has also been issued by Met Eireann for the entire Christmas weekend.

“A potentially stormy spell of weather is likely later this week and over the Christmas weekend.

“In particular, Friday looks like bringing stormy weather, with the north and west most at risk, but the details are still uncertain at this stage.”

AA Roadwatch have also warned travellers to be prepared for delays on Thursday and Friday, as it is the peak travel time.

Stay safe out there folks!
