Louis Walsh has shared some advice for any Irish singers auditioning for the X Factor this weekend.

Performers can try bag a place on the show, as auditions are taking place in Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre until Sunday evening.

X Factor judge Louis, has revealed that it’s absolutely crucial that the hopefuls show off their individuality in front of the producers.

Speaking on 2FM, the music manager said, “It’s about personality and likability, because that’s who people vote for. People don’t necessarily vote for the best singers.

“Every year there’s one or two songs that people think we want to hear, but we don’t. We’re looking for individuality, change the song a bit, slow it down or something. Song choice is crucial and so is presentation.”

He continued, “If you come in nervous, we’re going to be nervous. We want you to be happy, this could change someones life. And I’d love to get an Irish winner this year.

“You must be confident to go in there, and if you’re enjoying it, we’re enjoying it. And it is everything, not just the voice, you don’t have to be a great singer – you just have to a great performer and be likeable.

“You’ve nothing to lose, it’s St Stephen’s Green, they’re there until Sunday. Just go along, tell them I sent ya, and I’ll see you at the live shows. That’s how it could work.”

Will you be heading along?
