Karen Koster is a busy working mum, a tv presenter and an Irish style and beauty favourite.
Now with two kids, Finn and JJ, with hubby John McGuire, the TV3 presenter is hoping to ‘share a little magic’ and spend time with the little ones this Halloween.
“We’re going to go to my sister’s house and do Trick or Treating,” Karen told VIP Magazine.
“It was funny, we brought them into that Halloween shop in Dundrum and the were just terrified of everything! If you’re not even three years old it is kind of scary.
“The least scary costumes we could fine were Paw Patrol, so Finn is Rubble and JJ is going to Chase. They’re the cutest costumes we could find for them, but typically, after spending 50 quid, I pit them both on and they’re like ‘this is scratchy!’
“So I don’t know if they’ll last, but my sister has three kids so we’ll go Trick or Treating with their cousins.”
Karen, who has recently been enjoying one less work day a week, thanks to Xpose’s new scheduling change, says her top tips for a stress free Halloween with little ones is to be organised.
“I’m not great at being organised so I do try extra hard to organise in advance. I would never before have bought a costume two weeks before in my life but that’s taken the stress out.
“I know the first year I was desperate, I didn’t buy Finn anything and the creche had to lend him a cat costume, I was just awful.
“So like that, if you can have something sorted, get yourself a bit prepared…. And after that, I haven’t really had that many Halloweens yet because my guys are still quite young.
“The kids aren’t mad sugar fiends yet, like me and John are always kinda going ‘do you want a lick of this lollipop’ and they go ‘no I’m ok’, so I don’t have that worry yet.
“So just don’t make it too scary yet, Finn even said ‘I don’t want you to dress up as a scary witch!’
