James Kavanagh has slammed Floyd Mayweather for his homophobic jibe towards Conor McGregor.
The snapchat star is the brother of McGregor’s trainer John Kavanagh.
During the press conference a number of offensive remarks were made between the two men set to fight in August.
At one point Floyd Mayweather calls McGregor a ‘f****t’.
“I know Conor, and I know a homophobic remark like that would have upset him,” James told the Irish Sun.
The influencer, who knows Conor through his older brother said the slur is unacceptable.
“I know trash talk sells tickets but there is no excuse to call anyone a f****t.
“Conor’s own trainer, John, has a brother who is gay, me,” James explains.
“And Conor campaigned for the Yes side in the marriage referendum.
“Trash talk each other into the ground by all means but never, ever use the word f****t.”
The 28-year-old explained that comments like this can have a negative affect on young people.
“I think celebrities do need to watch what they say, in fact they should try and push out the most positive message possible.
“I got really badly bullied in school by a bunch of boys who made my life hell because I was gay. Because young people do watch these things and take notice.

“Already stuff is getting better for gay teenagers in school but more has to change.”
James also said outside of The Octagon Conor is ‘such a nice guy’.
He added: “Conor’s image is all bravado. Underneath he is such a nice guy. For example, my own nephew Sean is autistic and loves talking about comic books. I know whenever Sean visits the gym, Conor will sit down with him one to one and listen to him talking all about comics.
“That’s what Conor is like. He has time for everyone.”
James recently celebrated his birthday and was shocked to see that Paris Hilton wished him a happy birthday.
