Making his acting debut, George Hook will appear in a brand new comedy series on RTE.

The broadcaster will be appearing in Alison Spittle’s new show, Nowhere Fast, which also features the likes of Cathy Belton and Clarabelle Murphy.

The show follows the life of Angela, played by Alison, as she returns to rural Ireland following a brief stint working in Dublin.

Speaking to our sister publication, TVNow Magazine, Alison revealed how she and George have been good friends for years, and she was delighted to have him on board with this project.

“George Hook was very good. He was very nice,” she said.

“I used to work with him a lot on his radio show. I used to go on in the evenings, waffle on and talk about nothing.

“We get on so well and he was so good to come out and do it.”

George was suspended from Newstalk in September of this year after making controversial comments about rape.

The station later revealed that he would be stepping down from the weekday slot altogether and would instead host a weekend show.

He’s set to return to the airwaves in December, while Nowhere Fast airs on RTE2, Monday 13th at 10pm.
