Erin McGregor has opened up about her relationship with dance partner Ryan McShane, admitting they’re the best of friends.
The pair topped the leaderboard last week with their Salsa, and impressed again this Sunday with their Viennese Waltz, scoring 22 points.
Gushing over Ryan, Erin told VIP Magazine, “He definitely knew going into this competition was about a lot more than just dancing for me.
“He gets to see the tears, the happiness – he sees what goes on behind closed doors.
“When we go on that dance floor, I don’t want to let him down. He has put a lot of work into me. He’s an extremely hard worker. He’s so passionate about his dancing. I don’t want to let him down. He’s definitely my best friend.
“Ryan, Thalia, my husband Terry and I get on so well. There’s a little friendship going on. It’s great.”
Erin concluded, “He’s been nothing but kind, supportive and he never gives out. He never shouts! He definitely is a great teacher.”
Speaking of the negative comments on social media and whether she pays much attention the Dubliner told VIP Magazine, “I always see things – both the good and the bad. I’m new to this. I’m growing as a person.
She added: “A few weeks ago the bad comments would have really hurt me and badly affected me but I’m getting stronger and I’m trying to focus more on the positive comments.”
