Dermot O’Leary has previously expressed his delight at being back to present this years X-Factor, after taking a year off. However, there is one part about his return to the reality show which is making him slightly nervous.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Dermot said that he’s worried about how the show will perform, in terms of ratings. He wants it to go down well with audiences, and for viewers to enjoy it.

“Well, I’m always worried about it, yeah! You want it to rate, and X Factor – especially the live shows – are there to be enjoyed live.

“People watch telly in a very different way than they used to, but that said, of course we want to make sure that we do well. I know it’s going to sound like a beauty queen, but I don’t want it to be about us.

“I want people to just enjoy the show – it’s been the warmest year I’ve ever done on The X Factor. I think everyone seems to be enjoying it, and we just want people to enjoy it at home,” he said.

Despite this slight fear, 43-year-old Dermot is excited for the new series to start, and feels that the judging panel is back as it should be, and everything feels natural.

“Louis needs Sharon around to stand up to Simon, and no-one would ever dare to stand up to Sharon! You’ve got that great dynamic there,” he said.

We can’t wait to get stuck into the new season!
